1440p gaming benchmarks
Across our 12-game test suite at 1440p Ultra without DLSS, the 4070 averaged 89 FPS while the 4070 Ti Super averaged 121 FPS — a 36% lead. With DLSS 3 Quality + Frame Generation enabled, both cards comfortably exceed 120 FPS in every title. The 4070 Ti Super pulls further ahead in VRAM-heavy games like Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 with Ray Tracing Ultra, where the 4070s 12GB buffer can cause stuttering.
4K: the Ti Super pulls ahead
At 4K Ultra, the 4070 manages a playable but unremarkable 54 FPS average, while the 4070 Ti Super hits 76 FPS — a 41% advantage. The extra VRAM and bandwidth make a real difference at 4K. If you plan to game at 4K now or in the next two years, the Ti Super is the clear choice.
Value: price per frame
The 4070 starts at around 55,000 in India; the 4070 Ti Super starts at around 78,000. At 1440p, the 4070 delivers 0.0016 frames per rupee and the Ti Super delivers 0.0015 — nearly identical value. The Ti Super becomes the better value at 4K. If you are strictly a 1440p gamer, the 4070 is the smarter buy; if 4K is in your future, stretch for the Ti Super.
Power and thermals
The 4070s 200W TDP means it runs on a 650W PSU and stays whisper-quiet with a dual-fan cooler. The Ti Supers 285W demands a 750W+ PSU and a triple-fan cooler that runs noticeably louder under load. Both use the efficient Ada Lovelace 4nm process, so neither runs hot — but the Ti Super generates more heat in your case.
Our verdict
For 1440p gaming on a mid-tower budget, the RTX 4070 is the smart choice — excellent performance, low power, and DLSS 3 future-proofs you for years. For 4K gaming, VRAM-heavy titles, or if you simply want maximum headroom, the 4070 Ti Super is worth the premium.
